Relaxing in hypnosis

What is Hypnosis?
Hint: You are already an expert at it

HYPNOSIS has been used therapeutically for thousands of years. It's a state of focused attention and heightened awareness that is directed within, and is a normal and natural part of being human. It's common for us to enter into a state of hypnosis when we watch a movie for example, meditate, or drive a car without remembering that we passed certain landmarks, or daydream as we wait in line. Someone can call our name and we don't hear them. The rest of the world disappears from our awareness. Our eyes are open and we are in a state of hypnosis, a state of trance, a state of intense focused concentration.  Hypnosis in various forms is something which we all experience throughout the day, depending on what we are doing. You've done this thousands of times and this is why hypnotherapists say that anyone who wants to be hypnotized can be. An outside force isn't causing you to do this. It’s just you, using your mind in a different way, allowing yourself to get into a different state of awareness. It's easy to see why all hypnosis is considered self-hypnosis.   When we close our eyes and bring our awareness inward with deep relaxation, profound inner resources become available. This is a doorway to the space where your mind and heart meet. In a calm, guided state of hypnosis, we can access the subconscious realm, where beliefs, emotions, memories, and deep-seated intuitive resources reside.

What is Hypnotherapy?

HYPNOTHERAPY, a powerful tool for mind-body transformation, combines intentional protocols with hypnosis to access the subconscious mind, where long-held behaviors, beliefs, and emotional imprints are stored. We relax the conscious mind to facilitate communication with the subconscious mind, so the two can work together in harmony for your greatest good, increasing your ability to shift thoughts in new and empowering ways, moving you into positive and powerful action.  In this space of inward reflection, beneath surface thoughts and daily distractions, in the deeper layers of the mind, we find the undercurrents that quietly shape the way you behave, perceive yourself and feel. Hypnotherapy gently brings these patterns into the light, allowing you to change and release what no longer serves you in order to rewire the mind for healing,  self-empowerment and peace. You access your inner resources and become more you—with more clarity, self compassion, and a deeper self awareness. It’s a fast and effective process that facilitates long-lasting change and is both deeply practical and profoundly soulful, as you connect with your innate intuitive guidance system to discover that the answers you are seeking are already within you. If you are open to this approach and are looking for change, I'm honored to guide you in this remarkable process.

Clinical Hypnotherapy Services

Where science and compassion meet for wellbeing.

CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY, also called therapeutic or medical hypnotherapy, is a specialized form of care used to support wellness in the presence of diagnosed illness, injury, or mental health challenges. Unlike general-purpose hypnosis, it is always intended to complement licensed medical, dental, or psychological care.

How can it help?  Clinical hypnotherapy is a science-based, mind-body collaboration, leveraging well-researched techniques that guide you into a deeply focused, yet relaxed state. In that state you can tap inner resources— you can lower stress hormones, regulate pain perception, strengthen immune and healing responses, and gain a sense of control and hope.  When used as part of a holistic approach, clinical hypnotherapy empowers the client—not by doing something to the body, but by activating what the body already knows how to do: heal, integrate, and restore balance.

Because these sessions involve medically significant conditions, a written referral from a licensed provider (physician, psychologist, therapist, dentist, etc.) is required. It's easy to get and I can help you with what that looks like.

This work is always done with compassion and collaboration, tailored to the client’s unique needs and medical care plan.

Skin Conditions

The skin is not just a barrier—it’s also a messenger, often reflecting what's happening beneath the surface in both body and mind. Hypnotherapy offers a gentle, mind-body approach to supporting chronic skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and hives by reducing stress and helping regulate immune and inflammatory responses. Through guided relaxation and subconscious work, hypnotherapy calms the nervous system, decreases flare-ups triggered by stress, and helps clients feel more at ease in their bodies. It’s not a replacement for medical care, but a powerful complement—especially when skin conditions have an emotional  component.

Asthma/Breathing Conditions

Breathing issues like asthma can be both physically and emotionally distressing, often triggered or worsened by stress, anxiety, or environmental cues. Hypnotherapy supports easier breathing by helping to reduce nervous system overactivation and by gently rewiring the body’s stress response. Through guided relaxation and subconscious retraining, hypno-therapy helps clients feel more in control of their breath, reduce anxiety-related symptoms, and improve overall respiratory comfort. It works alongside medical treatment—not as a replacement—to support a more peaceful, confident relationship with breathing.

Compulsive Disorders

Compulsive habits can feel like they’re running the show—repetitive behaviors that bring short-term relief but long-term distress. Whether it’s hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, or other repetitive patterns, hypnotherapy offers a compassionate, brain-based approach to interrupting the cycle and restoring calm. Clinical hypnotherapy works by calming the nervous system, uncovering subconscious triggers, and gently rewiring the automatic patterns that drive compulsive behavior. It provides a safe, supportive space for healing, while empowering clients with new tools to regain control.

Dental Conditions

Dental procedures can trigger anxiety, discomfort, or even panic in many people—often stemming from past trauma, sensitive reflexes, or fears about pain and control. Hypnotherapy provides a safe and highly effective way to reduce dental fear, manage physical responses, and promote a calmer, more comfortable experience in the dental chair. By working with the subconscious mind, hypno-therapy helps regulate the body’s reactions, ease the gag reflex, and reduce tension in the jaw and muscles. It’s also valuable in addressing bruxism (teeth grinding), TMJ disorders, and needle or procedure phobias—giving clients the tools to feel more at ease during treatment and in daily life.

Cardiovascular Concerns

Heart health is closely connected to how we manage stress and emotions. Hypnotherapy offers a gentle, research-informed way to support cardiovascular well-being by reducing anxiety and promoting healthier lifestyle habits from the inside out. In a deeply relaxed state of hypnosis, the body naturally shifts into parasympathetic mode—slowing the heart rate, calming the nervous system, and improving oxygen flow. Whether someone is coping with high blood pressure, recovering from a cardiac event, or navigating the emotional toll of heart disease, hypnotherapy offers compas-sionate, whole-person support for both prevention and healing.

Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness can be an overwhelming journey, often affecting not just the body but also the mind and spirit. Hypnotherapy offers a compassionate and empowering way to reconnect with your body’s own healing intelligence by supporting you in coping with the stress, pain, and uncertainty that long-term conditions can bring. And often, within the stillness of hypnosis, clients may also discover inner guidance, ancestral wisdom, or soul-level insight waiting to be heard. Healing  can also mean awakening, remembering, and returning to wholeness from the inside out.

Pain Management

Pain speaks in the language of the body, but its roots reach into the mind. Hypnotherapy helps to soften and sometimes even eliminate the experience of pain and restores a sense of comfort, safety, and control. By working with the subconscious, it can reduce the brain’s perception of pain, ease the emotional burden that often accompanies chronic discomfort, and create new pathways for relief. In this space of inner calm, the body can begin to rest, recover, and remember what it feels like to be at ease.

It’s a gentle, non-invasive support that works in harmony with medical care.

Autoimmune Disease Support

Living with an autoimmune disease can feel like being in a constant state of tension—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Hypnotherapy offers a gentle, empowering way to calm the immune system, regulate stress, and reconnect with the body’s deeper rhythms of healing and restoration. By entering a deeply relaxed, receptive state, the nervous system shifts out of “fight or flight” and into “rest and repair.” Hypnotherapy can significantly reduce symptom flares, support emotional balance, and improve overall quality of life by working with the underlying stress that often triggers immune overactivity.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis can cause chronic pain, fatigue, emotional distress, as well as a sense of isolation that’s hard to put into words. Hypnotherapy can help manage the physical and emotional toll of the condition by reducing pain sensitivity, regulating stress, and restoring a sense of agency in the body. Used in conjunction with medical care, hypnotherapy has been shown to improve pain perception, reduce inflammation-related stress responses, and ease the mental burden of living with a chronic condition. It's a gentle, empowering support that helps clients feel calmer, stronger, and more at home within themselves.

happy clients

Kim approaches hypnotherapy with a sense of calm and care that really helped me feel comfortable with the process. I was feeling stuck. Old patterns were preventing me from moving forward on a number of fronts. I really appreciate her attention to detail and follow-through. It was just what I needed at a critical time. Highly recommended!

A.C.  St John

My session with Kim was truly an amazing experience. She was incredibly kind, grounded, and supportive throughout the entire process. I felt deeply connected and safe to share my story—she held space for my trauma in a way that felt both gentle and empowering. The hypnosis itself felt like just five minutes, though it lasted for hours. Time truly disappeared. I received the recording afterward and have listened to it several times—each time, I uncover new layers and insights. I’m still integrating what came through, and it continues to offer healing and clarity. I’m so grateful for Kim and her presence in this work.
